Trigant are a band from Germany that plays a very modern form of thrash metal and this is a review of their self released 2014 ep "Wolves".
The ep starts out with a very heavy and melodic sound and a mixture of riffs and leads which leads up to thrash style vocals and back up gang shots which also leads to melody being added into the singing but with a more rough edge and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them.
As the ep continues it starts mixing both the old school and modern variations of thrash metal together along wit h some regular metal and groove influences being added into the music and after awhile a brief use of dark sounding spoken words are added in a few music before adding in a brief growl which brings a death metal feeling to the recording along with more rock orientated solos and leads but for the most part the band sticks to a thrash sound.
On this recording Trigant combine the 80's 90's and modern thrash sounds together while also b ringing in a good amount of melody and groove which makes the band and ep stand out in this musical genre.
Song lyrics cover dark and everyday themes, while the production has a very strong, powerful, heavy and professional sound for being a self released recording where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
In my opinion Trigant are a very great sounding modern day thrash metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Breaking" and "Wolves". 8 out of 10.
