Perceverance are a band from Italy that plays an old school form of speed/thrash metal and this is a review of their self released 2013 album "The Dark Mechanism".
The album starts out with an old school thrash metal sound along with aggressive vocals which also have a melodic edge and fast riffing and after awhile early 80's style speed/thrash solos are added into the music as well as all of the musical instruments sounding very powerful.
As the album continues thew band continue their old school thrash sound and they seem to be influenced by both the American and German scenes and at times bring in mid paced sections that have a traditional metal feeling to them as well as bringing in a small amount of blast beats and a small amount of melody to the guitar riffing.
When we get halfway through the album clean playing is brought in briefly on a couple of songs as well as the band starting to slow down and add in more melody while also sticking to the more aggressive sound of the early songs as well as bringing in an instrumental.
Song lyrics cover dark, hateful and metal themes, while the production has a very strong, powerful, heavy, old school and professional sound where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
In my opinion Perceverance are a very great sounding speed/thrash metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Prepotence" "Mentally Dead" "Into The Void" and "The Dark mechanism". 8 out of 10.
