1.Can you give us an update on what is going on with the band these days?
Hi guys, first of all i wish to thank you for this interview. So, actually we are working on the new songs; after our debut album “The Dark Mechanism” we aim to improve our sound with more aggressive and progressive influences coming live very soon.
2.A few months back you put out a new album, how would you describe the musical sound of the newer material and also how does it differ from your past recordings?
“The Dark Mechanism” contains “two differentent Perceverance”: some of the tracks infact were composed with the past members, after the split and the arrival of the new guitarrist Sebastiano and the new bass player Christian we wrote the most recent songs. The sound is oriented to the old school thrash metal but there are also some other influences and melodical riffs.
3.Can you tell us a little bit more about the lyrical topics and subjects the band explores with the new release?
The lyrics are all written by me, our songs explore the differen themes of every day life; there are some introspective lyrich such as “Into The Void”, or “Trapped In A Corner” but also social lyrics such as the titletrack “The Dark Mechanism” wich talks about the big perverse system that control us.
4.I have read that the band started out as Steelchains, what was the decision behind the name change and also the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Perceverance'?
Originally we began as a classical heavy metal band but after soon years, due to the big number of bands used to play that genre, we decided to change sonorities, but we didn't disbanded, we restart from zero re arranging the songs we made before and writing new material. We choose the name “Perceverance” as symbol of the energy we made this; we wrote “perceverance” instead of “perseverance” to avoid any omonimy.
5.What are some of the best shows that the band has played over the years and also how would you describe your stage performance?
I surely can define our best performances our shows at Liguria in Metal Fest 2012 and Machete Fest 2013; two great gigs that we made with all our energy, felt by the odience with a lot of happyness and feeling.
6.Do you have any touring or show plans for the future?
Actually we have no confirmed show, we are planning some gigs but nothing sure at the moment, our plans for the future are writing new music and promote our album in the best way possible.
7.Currently you are unsigned, are you looking for a label or have received any interest?
Actually we are unsigned but we had received some interest that we have to think about. Our promotion is made by Music Solutions Agency, that give us a very big support, if some label will ask for us we will be happy to answer to it.
8.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of thrash metal?
As we can read in some reviews from the worldwide, our music had a very good feedback, some of them like our old school attitude while others appreciated our eclettical style, that's our target.
9.Are any of the band members involved with any other musical project these days?
Yes of course, i also play in other two bands a symphonic black metal project called Mystical Crisis and a pagan death metal band called Icethrone, while Sebastiano, the lead guitar
rist, play also in a hard rock band called Power Drive.
10.What direction do you see your music heading into on future releases?
Surely we will keep the thrash metal attitude but with a more aggressive and modern sound.
11.What are some bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
Nowadays i listen to many different styles such as jazz, classical and extreme metal; all of them could give us a new inspiration to write new music, in this way we put no limits to our songwriting.
12.Do you have any non musical interests?
Yes, i have! I also love litterature, art, philosophy and martial arts.
