Locomuerte are a band from France that plays a mixture of old school chicano hardcore and metal and this is a review of their self released 2013 album 'Tracion Bendicion".
The album starts out with a heavy sound along with aggressive screams before going into a faster hardcore direction along with back up gang shouts and on the following song thrash influences make their way into the music as well as all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them.
As the album continues the music sticks a hardcore sound which combine s both the 80's and 90's together and you can also hear traces of Biohazrd in the music at times while being a bit more closer to hardcore as well as having some aggressive parts which bring a death metal feeling to the recording at times along with a small amount of punk rock influences which also leads up to a brief use of guitar solos and melodic vocals.
With this album Locomuerte go back to the hardcore sounds of the 80's and 90's and bring in the heaviness of thrash to create a very heavy sounding hardcore album which does not have the crapping elements(I.e emo, Post) a great amount of modern bands have these days and the album returns to the genre to its more raw and heavy roots.
Song lyrics are written in French and cover political, hateful, and everyday themes, while the production has a very strong, powerful, heavy and professional sound for being a self released recording where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
In my opinion Locomuerte are a very great sounding mixture of hardcore and metal and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Manera Violenta" "Ranfla" "En La Calle Muerp" and "Tracion Bendicion". 8 out of 10.
