Dinner Music For The Gods are a band from Los Vegas, Nevada that plays a mixture of metal, jazz and world music and this is a review of their self released 2014 album "Beautiful And Treacherous".
The album starts out with some clean jazz rock style playing along with all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them which also leads up to rock fusion style solos and leads and then the music goes into a more metal direction while also having a very progressive feeling to it.
As the album continues the music remains in an instrumental direction and while it is heavy enough for the metal category it still has a more rock music feeling to it and there is also a lot of ethnic styles of music from all around the world added into the music and it gives the band a very original sound along with a great amount of gypsy flamenco.
On all of the songs that are present on this album Diner Music For The Gods bring in a variety of many different musical genres and mix it in with an instrumental metal/rock sound to create a very original recording as well as having a great amount of talent on the guitars which reminds me of the early 90's wave of instrumental rock/metal.
Song lyrics are all absent from this recording with the music being all instrumental, while the production has a very strong, powerful, heavy and professional sound where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording as well as some of the songs being very long and epic in length.
In my opinion Dinner Music For The Gods are a very great sounding mixture of metal, jazz and world music and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Beautiful And Treacherous" "Kashmir" and "Ghost Troopers in The Sky". 8 out of 10.
