Heaven's Colt are a band from France that plays a mixture of heavy metal and hard rock and this is a review of their self released 2013 ep "Labuor Du Vice".
The album starts out with a heavy blues rock sound that also has a metal edge to it and then the melodic vocals start to kick in and after awhile classic rock style solos and leads are added into the music along with all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them.
As the album continues the music starts to mix the heaviness of NWOBHM with the hard rock style of AC/DC and The Cult while also having a good amount of melody as well as updating the 70s sound for the modern day and on one song they bring in a punk rock feeling to the recording.
With this album Heaven's Colt go back to a hard rock/metal sound that no new bands have done for years and bring in a modern production to bring back a sound that is more close to Saxon and AC?DC than anything else that is done in 2014 and they pay perfect homage to a long forgotten genre.
Song lyrics are written in French and cover drinking and everyday themes, while the production has a very strong, powerful, heavy and professional sound for being a self released recording where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
In my opinion Heaven's Colt are a very great sounding mixture of hard rock and heavy metal and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Labour Du Vice" and "Alcooolo". 8 out of 10.
