Lucifer's Hammer are a band from Chile that plays a very traditional form of metal and this is a review of their 2012 demo "night Sacrifice" which was re-issued by Shadow Kingdom Records in the year of 2014.
The demo starts out with a melodic guitar lead along with all of the other musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them before going into a more early 80's traditional metal sound along with clean singing vocals as well as bringing a great amount of melody to their music and you can also her a great amount of Iron Maiden and NWOBHM influences on the demo.
As the demo continues you can hear traces of early power metal being added into the music and there is nothing modern on this recording and it is a throwback to the early 80s metal sound while also having a dark feeling to it and on the last song they bring in a small amount of clean playing.
With this demo Lucifer's Hammer go back to the early roots of true heavy metal and this has a sound which would of been perfect for the metal climate of 1982 while it was actually recorded 30 years later.
Song lyrics cover Dark Fantasy and occultism themes, while the production has a very strong, powerful, heavy and old school sound where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
In my opinion Lucifer's Hammer are a very great sounding traditional metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Night Sacrifice". 8/5 out of 10.
