1.Can you give us an update on what is going on with the band these days?
At the moment we do a lot of promotion for our new album Traicion Bendicion. It’s lot of work for us because we don’t have any label. We have a kind of street team in France and Belgium who give us help and support us, it’s great to have them ! We also work a lot on the merchandising with a new design and also online shop.
2.A few months back you put out a new album, can you tell us a little bit more about the musical direction it has taken?
Nico : It’s ruffly the same musical direction, we do simple songs full of energy, that’s what we like to play. For this album we’ve taken more time for the composition, the first one Maquina de Guerra was made in 4 months and recorded in 4 fucking days ! We were in a really ragious mood for Traicion Bendicion so some tracks are really fast with some great parts for circle pits !
3.I have seen the band labeled as 'Chicano Hardcore' and while I can hear it in your music there is more than just that, what is it like for a band in France to be playing music that is more in that culture which is more a part of America?
Noxy : We don’t realy think about our evironement while composing or playing. I love latino music for many years and can’t help myself but to use as many references as I can in the writing of the lyrics and melodies. The music is a crossover of all the bands we grew up with in the 80’s and 90’s ; mainly NY punk and hardcore, Bay Area thrashers and Tampa death metal. We are clearly doing american music and fucking enjoy it ! But most important : people who listen and party with us during the shows enjoy it too !!
4.Can you tell us a little bit more about the lyrical topics and subjects the band explores with the music?
Noxy : I transpose a lot of my latino musical background in the writing. For this record, I borrowed a lot from reggaeton and caribean hip hop. That’s why we’re cruising in low riders in one song, have a broken heart on an other, or just throwing punches in a good ol’ ego trip.
Whatever the topic only one thing matters : taking care of the dance floor.
5.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name Locomuerte'?
Nico : As we decided to sing strictly in spanish we of course chose a spanish name. And it sounds good…
6.What are some of the best shows that the band has played over the years and also how would you describe your stage performance?
Noxy : We still are Young as a band but we already shared the stage with some of our musical icons man ! For our second gig we played with Suicidal Tendencies and did « war Inside my head » at the end of our act. That night we accomplished a fan dream. Since that day we’ve played with many great bands, met a lot of good people, did bigger venues and festivals. Playing at the Hell Fest two years ago remains our biggest concert memory… As to describe our performance on stage I would say 80% energy 10% in your face 10% fiesta.
7.Do you have any touring or show plans for the future?
Noxy : We don’t have any touring or shows scheduled for now. You will know as soon as we do !
8.Currently you are unsigned, are you looking for a label or have received any interest?
Noxy : We’d love to work with a label and develop the band to the point where everything doesn’t rely only on us. We just didn’t find any satisfying deal so far.
9.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of metal and hardcore?
Noxy : Feedback is exellent. The first fans to show a real interest outside of France are american (usa, mexico, colombia). We also received a lot of support from england, belgium and eastern europe. We can’t wait to tour there partying and destroying dance floors.
10.What direction do you see your music heading into on future releases?
Noxy : We cannot predict what i twill be since we don’t over think the music. It will probably keep in the same direction :heavy spicy rock’n’roll con mucho huevos.
11.What are some bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
Noxy : Our main reference is ST. We also love the california skating surfing way of life. That explains the looks and the spirit of LM. These days we listen to municipal waste, motorhead, skindred, metallica and all our good ol’ stuff forever on playlist.
12.What are some of your interests outside of music?
Noxy : we’ve got much interest for our families, wifes, children and close friends. Nico breeds reptiles. I’m doing music at home. Plus a little partying… that’s about it .
13.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?
