The Accused are a band from Seattle, Washington that plays a style they describe as splattercore which is a mixture of punk, thrash, and hardcore and this is a review of their 1987 album "More Fun Than An Open Casket Funeral" which was released by Combat Records.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with some blast beats being utilized at times, while the bass playing has a very strong and powerful sound with heavy punk/metal riffing t hat dominates throughout the recording.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast crossover riffs which combine punk, thrash and hardcore together to create a sound of their own, while the lead guitars are very raw and primitive sounding punk/thrash guitar solos and leads, as for t he acoustic guitars and folk instruments they are only used on the last song to give the music a country/western feeling.
Vocals are all screaming punk/thrash vocals as well as some spoken word samples being utilized at times, while the lyrics cover dark, violent, hateful and everyday themes, as for t he production it has a very heavy, raw and primitive sound to it while you can still hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
In my opinion this was a very great sounding recording from The Accused and if you are a fan of t his band, you probably already own this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Halo Of Flies" "Lifeless Zone" "Devil Woman" and "Take No Prisoners". RECOMMENDED BUY.
