Borg 64/Anywhere But Here/Discouraged Records/2013 CD Review

Borg  64  are  a  band  from  Sweden  that  mixes  Drum'n'Bass,  digital  hardcore,  hardcore  punk  and  metal  together  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2013  album  "Anywhere  But  Here"  which  was  released  by  Discouraged  Records.

Drum  programming  ranges  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  beats,  while  the  sound  effects  bring  a  sound  that  combines  digital  hardcore  with  drum'n'bass  together  to  created  a  sound  of  their  own,  as  for  the  bass  playing  it  has  a  very  strong  and  powerful  sound  with  heavy  riffing  that  dominates  throughout  the  recording.

Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  hardcore  punk  riffs  that  combine  the  heaviness  of  metal  to  create  a  sound  of  their  own  while  also  having  an  industrial  edge  to  the  riffing  and  there  are  no  guitar  solos  or  present  on  this  recording.

Vocals  are  all  angry  shouting  hardcore  punk  vocals  mixed  in  with  some  more  aggressive  parts,  while  the  lyrics  cover  violent  and  hateful  themes,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  strong,  powerful,  heavy  and  professional  sound  where  you  can  hear  all  of  the  musical  instruments  that  are  present  on  this  recording.

In  my  opinion  Borg  64  are  a  very  great  sounding  hybrid  of  drum'n'bass,  digital  hardcore,  hardcore  punk  and  metal  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  style,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Death  To  False  Power  Chords"  and  "Judge  Jury  Executioner  Host".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
