Danzig are a band from New Jersey that are very well down with a musical s tyle on t his recording being a very dark, gothic, bluesy and heavy form of metal and this recording and this is a review of their 1990 album "Danzig II : Lucifuge" which was released by Def American Recordings.
Drums are all slow to mid paced drumming with no fast playing or blast b eats being present on this recording, while the bass playing has a very strong and powerful sound with heavy riffing that dominates throughout the recording.
Rhythm guitars range from slow to mid paced riffs that combine metal, gothic and blues rock together to create a sound of their own with a good amount of dark sounding melodies being thrown into the riffing as well as a brief use of soft and clean playing, while the lead guitars when they are utilized are blues rock guitar solos and leads, as for the acoustic which are only used briefly they use full chords to add more blues influences in the music.
Vocals a re all clean singing blues/classic rock vocals, while the lyrics cover dark, occult, and depressing themes, as for the production it h as a very strong, powerful, heavy and professional sound for t he time it was released and you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
In my opinion this was a great sounding recording from Danzig and if you are a fan of this band, you probably already own this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Snakes Of Christ" "Tired Of Being Alive" "Her Black Wings" and "Blood And Tears". RECOMMENDED BUY.
