Spirit Adrift are a band from Arizona that plays a psychedelic form of desert doom metal and this is a review of their 2017 album "Curse Of Conception" which will be released in October by 20 Buck Spin.
Acoustic guitar playing starts off the album along with some heavy doom metal riffs and melodic guitar leads a few seconds later while all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them along with the vocals being done in more of a traditional and epic doom metal style.
A great portion of the tracks are very long and epic in length while the music also has atmospheric sounds in the background at times along with some tracks also adding in a small amount of clean playing and the music also mixes in a decent amount of psychedelic elements and acoustic guitars are also used on some of the later tracks and as the album progresses mid tempo sections are also added onto some of the songs and one song is alos an instrumental.
Spirit Adrift plays a musical style that is mostly rooted in traditional epic doom metal while also mixing in some of the more modern psychedelic style to create something different, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion Spirit Adrift are a very great sounding psychedelic doom metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Earthbound" "Graveside Invocation" and "Onward, Inward". 8 out of 10.
