Lamina are a band from Portugal that plays a psychedelic mixture of stoner rock and doom metal and this is a review of their 2017 album "Lilith" which was released by Raging Planet.
Drum beats starts off the album before going into more of a harder direction where you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording while the vocals are done in more of a 70's hard rock/metal style along with the riffs also bringing in a great amount of melody.
At times the music brings in the heaviness of doom metal while the solos and leads remain true to a stoner rock style along with a great amount of psychedelic elements being utilized and the songs stick to either a slow or mid tempo direction and while their is a great amount of retro elements the music still sounds very modern and some of the tracks are very long in epic in length, as the album progresses acoustic guitars can also be heard in certain sections of the recording and spoken word parts are also used briefly.
Lamina plays a musical style that takes a psychedelic form of stoner rock and mixes it in with t he heaviness of doom metal to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Occultism themes.
In my opinion Lamina are a very great sounding psychedelic mixture of stoner rock and doom metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Cold Blood" "Evil Rising" and "In The Warmth Of Lilith". 8 out of 10.
