Grant The Sun are a band from Norway that plays an instrumental and progressive form of extreme metal and this is a review of their self titled 2017 album which was released by Mas-Kina Recordings.
Atmospheric sounds and clean playing starts off the album before going into more of a heavier and melodic musical direction and the music also brings in a great amount of prog elements while all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and vocals are never utilized.
When guitar leads a re utilized they are done in a very melodic fashion while elements of djent are also utilized at times along with some tracks also adding in touches of post metal and when guitar leads are utilized they stick to more of a melodic and progressive style and as the album progresses some of the riffs also add in the aggression of modern thrash and when the music speeds up a small amount of blast beats can be heard.
Grant The Sun plays a style of prog metal that is all instrumental while also mixing in the heaviness of djent and modern thrash to create a sound of their own and the production sounds very professional.
In my opinion Grant The Sun are a very great sounding instrumental and progressive extreme metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Haben Sie Angst "Mord Og Slam" and "No Thanks, Yes". 8 out of 10.
