Kingsnake are a band from Pennsylvania that plays a mixture of heavy and stoner rock and this is a review of their 2017 album "Resonance" which was released by Oak Island Records.
A very hard and heavy 70's influenced sound starts off the album along with some elements of proto metal while the music also mixes it in with a more modern stoner rock style and the vocals are done in a very rough yet melodic style along with all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them.
When solos and leads are utilized they bring in more of a retro rock style while touches of doom metal can also be heard at times and touches of blues rock are also utilized at times and as the album progresses psychedelic elements can also be heard in certain sections of the recording and some of the t racks are long and epic in length and all of the songs stick to either a slow or mid tempo musical direction.
Kingnake plays a musical style that takes the heavy rock and metal style of the 70's and mixes it in with a more modern stoner rock style, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover fantasy, anti religion and mythology themes.
In my opinion Kingsnake are a very great sounding mixture of heavy and stoner rock and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Diary Of A Bad Man" "Miss Sorceress" "Athena" and "Phoenix". 8 out of 10.
