Soul Collector are a band from Poland that plays an old school form of thrash metal and this is a review of their 2014 album "Thrashmageddon" which was released by Defense Records.
Spoken word samples start off the album before going into a very heavy and old school thrash metal direction that incorporates a decent amount of blast beats along with some aggressive vocals a few seconds alter that also have a melodic tone to them at times and you can also hear some melody in the guitar riffing quite a bit throughout the recording.
All of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and at times back up gang shouts are added into certain sections of the recording and when solos and leads are added into the music they remain tree to the old school thrash sound of the bands musical style while also incorporating a great amount of melody, talent and skill and as the album progresses the band brings in a few tracks that are very long and epic in length as well as bringing in horror movie samples and small amounts of clean playing at times.
Soul Collector plays a style of old school thrash metal that has a very vintage 80's Bay Area style of sound and the songs also sound like they could of easily been recorded and released during that time period, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover demons and death.
In my opinion Soul Collector are a very great sounding old school thrash metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Army Of the Dead" "Lord Of The Fire" "Horrorhouse" and "Pure Fucking Evil". 8 out of 10.
