Palm Desert are a band from Poland that plays stoner rock and this is a review of their 2014 album "Pearls From The Muddy Hollow" which was released by Krauted Mind Records.
A very dark and heavy stoner rock sound starts off the album along with a good amount of heaviness and melody and when vocals are added into the music they bring in a 70's feeling to the recording and when solos and leads are added into the music they continue the desert rock feeling of the recording and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them.
On some of the tracks clean playing can be heard in certain sections of the recording while a great amount of the tracks bring in elements of 70's metal and they also bring in an instrumental that displays their skills as musicians and as the album progresses spoken word parts can be heard in certain sections of the recording along with a couple of tracks that are very long and epic in length and some of the later tracks also bring in the energy of punk rock.
Palm Desert plays a style of desert/stoner rock which shows them bringing in a great amount of talent and skill as well as keeping everything heavy, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion Palm Desert are a very great sounding stoner rock band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "No Way Back" "Favela" "No Pain, No Sorrow" and "Forward in The Sun". 8 out of 10.
