Virus are a band from Norway that plays an avant garde form of rock/metal and this is a review of their 2016 album "Memento Collider" which will be released in June by Karisma Records.
Clean playing and avant garde sounds start off the album before going into a harder direction where you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording and the vocals are done in a clean singing fashion and a great majority of the tracks are very long and epic in length.
At times the music can be very experimental and whispers can also be heard in certain sections of the recording while the bass guitars also are used as a lead instrument and the music also mixes in a great amount of progressive elements and all of the songs stick to either a slow or mid paced musical direction.
Virus plays a musical style that is mostly rooted in avant garde rock while also mixing in elements of metal and experimental music to create something very original sounding, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark and philosophical themes.
In my opinion Virus are a very great sounding avant garde rock/metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Rogue Fossil" and "Gravity Seeker". 8 out of 10.
