Strange Broue are a solo project from Quebec, Canada that plays a psychedelic mixture of stoner rock and doom metal and this is a review of his 2016 album "The Mystifying oracle" which will be released on May 27th by Sunmask.
A distorted amp sounds along with some melodic doom metal riffing starts off the album and after a few seconds clean singing vocals are added onto the recording and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and the solos and leads bring elements of stoner rock onto the recording.
Most of the tracks are very long and epic in length and nature sounds can also be heard at times and while the music has a lot of 70's influences the songs still sound very modern and the songs also bring in more psychedelic sounds as the album progresses and there are also a couple of instrumental tracks and there is also a brief use of spoken word samples and a couple of tracks also brings in a brief us of acoustic guitars and all of the songs stick to a very slow musical direction
Strange Broue plays a musical style that takes 70's psychedelic rock and doom metal and mixes it with a more modern stoner rock style to create a sound of his own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover horror, drugs, and occultism themes.
In my opinion Strange Broue are a very great sounding mixture of psychedelic, stoner, and doom metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this solo project. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Run The Night" "Children Of Sabbath" "The beast" and "The Captor". 8 out of 10.
