Solanum are a band from Manitoba, Canada that has been featured before in this zine and plays a crossover form of thrash metal and this is a review of their 2015 album "Into The Sinners Circle" which was released by Horror Pain Gore Death Records.
A very heavy thrash metal sound starts off the album and you can also hear a decent amount of melody in the music along with all of the instruments sounding very powerful while the vocals are done in a very aggressive hardcore style and when the music speeds up a decent amount of blast beats can be heard.
Back up gang shouts can be heard in some parts of the songs and while the music is very heavily rooted in the 80's the productions makes the songs sound more modern and throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and some songs also bring in a small amount of bass guitar leads while some tracks also bring in a small amount of movie samples and one of the tracks is very long and epic in length and also introduces melodic guitar leads onto the recording and the songs all stick to a very heavy musical direction.
Solanum creates another recording that takes old school thrash metal and mixes it with hardcore to create a very heavy sounding recording, t he production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover political themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding album from Solanum and if you are a fan of thrash metal or hardcore, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "P.T.S.D" "Symptoms Of Solanum" and "Beg For Your Life". 8 out of 10.
