Sadhak are a 1 man band from Norway that plays a very traditional form of doom metal and this is a review of their his self titled 2014 ep which was released by Shadow Kingdom Records.
A clean and retro sound starts off the ep and starts getting heavier after a few seconds and going into a more traditional doom metal direction along with some melodic vocals and after a few minutes guitar solos and leads are added into t he music and they bring a very heavy 70's rock/metal feeling to the recording.
The second track remains true to the slow doom metal sound that is presented on the first song as well as having a great amount of melody and being another long 9 minute track like the first song and you can also hear more of an atmosphere this time around that almost brings a black metal feeling to the recording.
Sadhak have a very interesting sound that mixes 70's and 80's doom metal together with long and epic structures, the production is very professional sounding and the lyrics cover dark and esoteric themes.
In my opinion Sadhak are a very great sounding doom meal project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "On the Arrival of Man". 8 out of 10.
