The Devil/Self Titled/Candlelight Records/2012 CD Review

The  Devil  are  a  band  from  England  that  plays  a  very  atmospheric  form  of  doom  metal  with  conspiracy  theories  spoken  word  parts  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  released  2012  album  which  was  released  by  Candlelight  Records.

Drums  are  all  slow  playing  with  no  fast  playing  or  blast  beats,  while  the  synths  bring  a  very  dark,  atmospheric  and  gothic  sound  to  the  music,  as  for  the  bass  playing  it  has  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  is  coming  out  of  the  guitars.

Rhythm  guitars  are  all  slow  riffs  that  combine  atmospheric  doom  metal  with  gothic  metal  as  well  as  some  traditional  metal  influences  mixed  in  with  a  great  amount  of  dark  sounding  melodies  as  well  as  a  brief  use  of  soft  and  clean  playing  and  there  are  no  guitar  solos  or  leads  present  on  this  recording.

Vocals  are  all  spoken  word  samples,  while  the  lyrics  cover  U.F.O's,  Illuminati,  Political  Conspiracy  Theories,  Secret  Society's,  Theosophy,  and  Occultism,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  strong,  powerful,  heavy  and  professional  sound  to  it.

In  my  opinion  The  Devil  are  a  very  great  sounding  conspiracy  theory  orientated  atmospheric  doom  metal  band  and  if  you  are  looking  for  something  that  is  very  original  sounding,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Universe"  "Devil  And  Mankind"  "Akashic  Enlightenment"  and "Illuminati".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
