This is a review of an album from Scott Kelley, Steve Von Till, and Wino with a musical style that I would describe as being neo-folk rock mixed with country music with the release being called "Songs Of Townes Van Zandt" which was released as a joint effort between Neurot Recordings and My Proud Mountain.
Acoustic guitars use finger picking and full chords and finger picking combining folk, rock and country together to create a sound of their own as well as mixing in some slide guitars as well as some guitar distortion, while the vocals are all clean signing.
Song Lyrics cover boken hearted love and gloom ridden tales, while the production has a very strong, powerful and dark sound with the guitars and vocals being the only musical instruments that are present on this recording.
In my opinion this collabration between Scott Kelley, Steve Von Till, and Wino is a very great sounding hybrid of folk, rock and country and if you are a fan of those musical style, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "St John, The Gambler" "Black Crow Blues" "The Snake Song" and "Tecemseh Valley". RECOMMENDED BUY.
