Pombagaria are a band from England that plays a very psychedelic form of experimental sludge/doom metal and this is a review of their 2013 album "Maleficia Lambiah" which will be released by Black Axis Records.
Drums are all slow playing with no fast drumming or blast beats, while the bass playing has a very strong and powerful sound with heavy riffing that dominates throughout the recording with some heavy and doomy riffing, as for the sound effects they bring in elements of experimental, drone and psychedelia to the music.
Rhythm guitars are all slow riffs that combine experimental, psychedelic, doom and sludge together to create a sound of their own along with a great amount of heavy distortion and there are no guitar solos or leads present on this recording, as for the acoustic guitars when they are utilized they use finger picking to bring a 70's rock sound to the music.
Vocals are all clean singing stoner/doom metal vocals, while the lyrics cover Voodoo, Witchcraft and Occultism, as for the production it has a very strong, powerful and heavy sound to the music where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording in addition the songs are very long and epic in length.
In my opinion Pombagaria are a very great sounding hybrid of experimental, psychedelic, stoner, sludge and doom metal and if you are a fan of this musical style, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Grave Cardinal". RECOMMENDED BUY.
