Assembly Of Light are a band from Rhode Island that plays a very experimental form of music that combines classical, choir, drone and sludge together and this is a review of their self titled 2012 album which was released by At A Loss Recordings.
Keyboards bring a very dark and ethereal sound to the music combining choir music with drone, while the female choirs bring a very dark and esoteric sound to the music making it alot more haunting sounding.
Rhythm guitars are all slow riffs that combine sludge, drone and doom metal together along with some heavy drum programming being utilized to the background of the riffing which makes the recording sound alot more heavier.
Male Vocals are mostly high pitched sludge style screams with some spoken word parts and clean singing being utilized at times, while the song themes cover darkness, as for the production it has a very dark, heavy riff and primitive sound to it while you can still hear everything that is going on.
In my opinion Assembly Of Light are a very great sounding hybrid of etherial, choir, drone and sludge and if you are looking for something that is very original sounding, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Transition" and "Into The Woods I". RECOMMENDED BUY.
