Red Rose are a band from Israel that plays a melodic mixture of heavy and power metal and this is a review of their 2015 ep "Anniversary" which was released by Kiv Records.
Dark sounding synths start off the ep bringing in elements of prog rock before adding in a heavier guitar sound while also mixing in the prog elements as well as adding melody into the riffs and the vocals are very old school melodic hard rock/metal style vocals and the music is very heavily rooted in the 80's sound.
While the songs have almost a 30 year old feeling to them the production makes their tracks sound more modern and the solos and leads the band uses are in a very melodic rock/heavy metal direction and they also bring a power ballad onto the ep along with a small amount of acoustic guitars ona a couple of songs while still having a good amount of melodic yet hard tracks.
Red Rose takes a melodic style of power metal and mixes it with some prog rock elements and a more AOR style of heavy metal/rock to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover real life themes.
In my opinion Red Rose are a very great sounding mixture of melodic power metal, heavy metal, and 80's hard rock and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Never Surrender" and "Everything Can Change". 8 out of 10.
