REACTION was born in 2005 in Milan, Italy. After several line-up changes, including singer, drummer and keyboardist, in autumn 2011, the band gets the right balance with 3 leading musicians: Marco "Viper" Vicari (Singer, Guitarist), Enrico "Terry" Rusconi (Bassist) and Jvan "JT" Tagliabue (Drummer and Percussionist, who joined the band in July 2007). In the fall of 2011, Viper, Terry and JT decided to exclude the previous singer Stefano from the band due to inner matters. The remaining members decided not to look for anyone else, so that Viper grabbed the mic and Reaction became a trio. Since then, the "Trio" has kept on playing, giving the best, aiming as high as possible and rubbing out every obstacle on its way. Since Autumn 2011 Reaction has been a machine whose components have always given everything for that and for its music ...deeply believing that "Better few but good ." For 2 years the band has worked hard, between live performances and practice in studio, until the first album "KILL THE PARASITE" was released in the fall of 2013! In 2014 the Italian Metal band "REACTION" has inked a worldwide management deal with GlobMetal Promotions. The band released its Album "Kill The Parasite" which GlobMetal are going to promote.
So far you have released a demo and a full length, how would you describe the musical sound that is presented on both of the recordings and also how do they differ from each other?
First of all, the songs you can find in “Reasons to React” (demo) are available in “Kill the Parasite” as well, even though they are different, having been arranged. Moreover, after the release of “Reason to React”, the line up changed: Viper started to sing and Reaction became a trio. The sound is more powerful and tenacious. The voice is less melodic and more aggressive.
The band has been around since 2005 but so far has only had 2 releases, can you tell us a little bit more about the gap between recordings?
Reaction has lost such a long time to find the right line up. To be honest, we could say Reaction was born in 2011 when we became a trio, starting to work on “Kill the parasite”.
What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band explores with the music?
The main issue is the reaction against the system. Some songs like for example Resistance, Your flaws and Kill the parasite are politically oriented, other songs are about everything we hate in human behavior . Some songs are dedicated to someone we met in our lives: Behind your mask and Lost. Cage of freedom is a introspecting trip.
What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Reaction'?
“Reaction” was the answer the to all the fucking assholes who tried to obstruct us. “Kill the Parasite” is deeply dedicated to them, as you can read in the inner side of the art work. Reaction is our way to scream out what we hate and despise.
What are some of the best shows that the band has played over the years and also how would you describe your stage performance?
Yes, we enjoyed opening Adam Bomb’ s concert and Erick Forest’ s one too (Ex Voivod ). During the lives the sound is raw: we have less harmony and more violence. Viper uses two cabs in order to supply the missing guitar. The voice is less high than the previous singer’ s one, but more savage and violent. Viper is more involving.
Do you have any touring or show plans for the future?
“Globmetal Promotions” is organizing “RRT” ( Russian Reaction Tour), scheduled to be in September 2015. It’ ll be the promotional tour for “Kill the Parasite” and we’ re going to play some songs from the new album as well. We would like to make a tour all over the fucking universe. J
Currently you are unsigned, are you looking for a label or have received any interest?
Yes, sure, we’ re looking for a label in order to produce our second full length, ‘cause we want to conquer the world and the world needs to be conquered by us. We also would like to sign a deal with a booking agency which could find dates and alcohol for us.
On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of extreme metal?
We have received many good feedbacks by the people who has listened to us and we are working to increase our fans. “Globmetal Promotions” is helping us to do that.
When can we expect new material and also where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?
We are working hard on a new album, which will be even better than “Kill the Parasite”. At the moment we have just finished the rhythm lines of 6/7 songs, we' re going to write lyrics and solos, then we' ll provide to make the right final arrangements. We can say it' s gonna be more prog than the first one, even though you' ll be able to find several thrashing and head smashing riffs as well. Viper is going to write a lyric about police, another about love (like Criminal pride haha), another against the system and one about the feeling in being psychotic. We would like to record it as soon as possible: it also depends by the label we could find.
What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
The bands which more influenced our music are MetallicA, Megadeth, PanterA, Testament, Slayer, Judas Priest, Sepultura, Dream Theater, Symphony X and Death. At the moment, we are listening to Devildriver, Machine head, Lamb of God, Fear factory, Havok, Revocation and Reaction.
What are some of your non musical interests?
Viper is a Psychologist and he practices martial arts, Terry does many jobs dreaming to live as a porno star or the Reaction bass player and he likes playing videogames, watching football matches. Jvan is a businessman, he studies music and drums and plays football. More than everything else we like pussy and beer.
Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?
Yes. We keep on liking pussy and beer. Thank you, guys for your interest.
We would like to thank all our fans, first of all, those who are blonde and with big tits. J
