Booze Control are a band from Germany that plays a traditional form of heavy metal and this is a review of t heir 2013 album "Heavy Metal" which was re-issued by Inferno Records in the year of 2015.
A very hard, melodic and old school metal sound starts off the album along with leads that use melody and dominate throughout the recording and the vocals are all clean singing true metal vocals and you can also hear a heavy NWOBHM influence in the band s musical style along with a touch of German and American metal from the early 80's.
There is a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts present throughout the recording and the songs have a very vintage 80's metal feeling to them and sound like they could of easily been recorded and released during that time frame and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and in some of the faster riffing you can also hear traces of speed and power metal and some of the alter tracks also bring in a small amount of clean playing w hile th e main focus remains on a true and heavy form of metal.
Booze Control plays a very true and pure style of heavy metal that takes the German sound of the early 80's and mixes it with the NWOBHM sound of that era to create some very heavy, melodic and retro sounding headbanging heavy metal, the production sounds very old school yet professional at the same time while the lyrics cover dark, mythological, heavy metal and drinking themes.
In my opinion Booze Control are a very great sounding traditional heavy metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Night of the Drinking Dead" "Outlaw" "Atlantis" and "Swim With the Shark". 8 out of 10.
