Hau are a duo from Greece that plays a mixture of experimental, break beats, improv, industrial and noise rock and this is a review of their self titled and self released 2014 ep.
A very heavy and distorted noise rock sound starts off the ep along with some melodies and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and you can also hear a touch of post hardcore/metal in the bands sound and when vocals are added into the music they are industrial style screams.
Most of the tracks on the ep are very long and epic in length and they all have an improv feeling to them and after awhile the more spoken industrial vocal approach becomes a part of the bands musical sound and after awhile more electronics, break beats and tribal rhythms are added into the songs and giving the music more of an underground industrial feeling and every song has a very different sound.
Hau plays a very experimental style of noise rock that also incorporates industrial and breakbeat to create a very original sound, the production sound s very dark and raw while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion Hau are a very great sounding experimental mixture of industrial and noise rock and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Cunts & Needles" and "Norma". 8 out of 10.
