Superflesh are a band from Finland that plays a mixture of metal, punk and hard rock and this is a review of their 2014 ep "Love" which was released by Elitbolaget.
An 80's hard rock sound along with some synths start off the ep and they also bring in the heaviness and a few seconds later melodic vocals are added onto the recording and the music has a sound that would of been considered mainstream rock in the 80's and when solos and leads are added into the music they take the song s into more of a glam and pop metal direction.
All of the musical instruments on the ep have a very powerful sound to them and as the music progresses the band bring s in the energy of punk rock into their 80's orientated hard rock sound along with a small amount of back up gang shouts and at times you can also hear a small amount of 70's influences being added onto the recording and the band also brings in a small amount of acoustic guitars on the last track.
Superflesh takes a very mainstream style of 80's metal and combines it with the more melodic rock sound of that era as well as adding in punk and alternative rock influences to create a sound of their own, the production sound s very professional while the lyrics cover humorous themes.
In my opinion Superflesh are a very great sounding mixture of metal, punk and hard rock and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Kings Of The Street" and "Godzilla Jesus". 8 out of 10.
