ThermiT are a band from Poland that plays an old school mixture of heavy and thrash metal and this is a review of their self released 2013 ep "Encephalopathy".
The ep starts out with a very heavy thrash metal sound along with all of the musical instruments having a powerful sound as well as some chaotic old school extreme metal guitar leads which leads up to melodic yet aggressive vocals and back up gang shouts and after awhile you can hear heavy and power metal influences being added into the music along with melody and the last song is a Metallica medley.
When the ep goes into the next song acoustic guitars are added into the music briefly before returning to a heavier direction and adding in blast beats but the acoustics also return on other songs and after awhile the music goes for a very heavy power/thrash direction.
On this ep ThermiT take the heaviest elements of old school thrash and mix it in with the melody of heavy and power metal along with some acoustic passages to create a very heavy, diverse and melodic recording.
Song lyrics cover dark, everyday and political themes, while the production has a very strong, powerful, heavy, old school and professional sound for being a self released recording where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this ep.
In my opinion Thermit are a very great sounding mixture of aggressive thrash, power and heavy metal and if you are fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band and ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Zombie Lover" and "Other Man". 8/5 out of 10.
