Hi-gh are a band from Italy that plays a mixture of speed metal and punk and this is a review of their 2013 album "Night Dances" which was released by L.A RIOT Survivor Records.
The album starts out with sound effects before adding in a heavy and melodic sound along with solos and after a couple of minutes the music goes into a more crossover direction along with aggressive vocals.
As the album continues the music starts going for more of a punk meets thrash metal sound while having the melody and catchy parts of speed metal and while this album has the perfect mosh pit atmosphere for a crossover record this band changes things around by having a more melodic approach to that genre and all of the musical instruments have a very heavy sound to them and this would be a perfect album to listen to w hen you are kicking back having a few beers and a joint and at times they also bring in elements of hard rock and hair metal on one song and on the last song psychedelic elements are brought into the music.
On this album Hi-gh combine old school thrash with punk and speed/heavy metal to create a sound that is completely 80's while having the heaviness for a violent mosh pit but the melody of traditional metal and it brings a different sound to t his genre.
Song lyrics cover partying and everyday themes, while t he production has a very strong, powerful, heavy and old school sound where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
In my opinion Hi-gh are a very great sounding mixture of punk, thrash and speed metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Faster! Faster! Faster!" "Zig Zag Shaped" "Let Me Know" and "Freeway madness". 8/5 out of 10.
