Everblast Interview

> 1.For those that have never heard of you before, can you tell us a little bit about the band?

Initially, we are 4 friends from Montpellier part of the musical underground , and under the leadership of Vincent , drummer , we decide in early 2013 set up a new band. David is at the bass, Mike and Poupi ensure the guitars and vocals. Initially we mainly play in the south of France , but with the first album came out in 2015, we start touring a little more.

> 2.So far you have released a demo and a full length, how would you describe the musical sound that is presented on both of the recordings and also how do they differ from each other?

We quickly recorded a demo, and our first songs were oscillating between thrash, hardcore and instrumental sludge , that's why there are two distinct faces on the album. Now we clearly prefer our thrash metal influences , with energy and very thick sound.

> 3.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band explores with the music?

The combination of music and words form a kind of resilience to psychological and societal constraints that can undergo a human being.
That said, we play mainly for fun ...

> 4.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Everblast’?

It represent rather well the band’s sound, yeah…….
Don’t you think so ?

> 5.What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and also how would you describe your stage performance?

Hard to say, the most unexpected concerts are sometimes the best . We do not have a great scene play, but we try to create a big intensity with an unstopping and very dense sound.

> 6.Do you have any touring or show plans for the future?

Not at the moment. We have new songs to work with, and we will definitely resume concerts in September.

> 7.The album was released on head Records, are you happy with the support they have given you so far?

Of course. It's cool when you start a band to have a label that trusts you and help you in your projects and touring.

> 8.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of hardcore and thrash metal?

For now , fans of hardcore and thrash seem to like our approach. They can find some good vibes in both styles which go fast, play loud, and transmit energy.

> 9.Where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?

We will definitely head into thrash music !!!
Hell yeah !!!

> 10.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?

For many people , our music is reminiscent to Slayer, but we have very broad influences , well above metal.

We 4 are huge fans of the Beastie Boys for example, and that goes from Daft Punk to Chuck Berry or even infamous shitty new songs of Will I Am or Lady Gaga.

> 11.What are some of your non musical interests?

David hates Matthieu Chedid, but we all like booze, drugs, sex, money, talking bad about friends, and all that usual stuff…...

> 12.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?
>

Thank you, long live to ExtremeUndergroundMusicZine !!
