Thundersteel are a band from Serbia that plays a mixture of heavy and speed metal and this is a review of their 2015 album "The Exorcism" which was released by Tmina Records.
Highway noises start off the album before going into a speed metal direction along with some high pitched power metal screams and the solos and leads also demonstrate a great amount of talent and skill while all of the vocals are clean sung and the music is very heavily rooted in the early 80's and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them.
Clean playing can be heard in certain sections of the recording and while the music sounds very old school the production updates the songs for the modern times and at times the riffs add in a heaviness that is almost close to thrash and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while some of the riffs also bring in a small amount of groove and one of the later tracks also brings in a horror movie style atmosphere before reverting back to more of a traditional metal sound on the last 2 songs.
Thundersteel plays a style of heavy and speed metal that has its roots in the 80's but done with a more modern touch, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover war, drugs and manipulation themes.
In my opinion Thundersteel are a very great sounding mixture of heavy and speed metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Anger On the Road" "Sail Away" "Idols Castle Of Light" and "Past Time lords". 8 out of 10.
