Guardians Of Time are a band from Norway that plays a very modern form of power metal and this is a review of their 2015 album "Rage And Fire" which was released by WormHoleDeath Records.
A very epic and symphonic sounding intro starts off the album giving the music a feeling of a fantasy soundtrack and after the intro the music starts to get a lot more heavier along with some melodic solos and leads that are also a huge part of the recording and when vocals are added into the music they are clean singing power metal vocals.
You can hear a lot of German power metal influences in the bands musical sound and the symphonic sounds from the intro also make a return in certain sections of the recording and some of the songs also bring in small amounts of clean playing and you can also hear a a power ballad one one song before returning back to a harder direction along the heavier sections bringing in a more modern style of power metal.
Throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and some of the tracks also bring in a small amount of aggressive extreme metal vocals and while the music sounds very modern you can still tell the band was heavily influenced by the heavy and power metal bands of the 80's and the last track also brings in a small amount of blast beats.
Guardians Of Time plays a style of power metal that mixes both the old school and modern forms of the genre along wit h some elements from the more extreme style of metal to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion Guardians Of Time are a very great sounding power metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Iron Heart" "Save Me" "Standing Tall" and "core". 8 out of 10.
