StampKase are a band from Portugal that plays a very extreme, modern and progressive form of metal and this is a review of their self released 2012 album "Mechanorgasm".
A very heavy and djent orientated sound starts off the album along with some aggressive vocals and screams and a few seconds later clean singing is added into certain sections of the recording and you can also hear some atmospheric sounds being utilized in the background at times and after awhile the band adds in a small amount of spoken word parts.
The guitar work that is presented on this recording has more of the more modern style of progressive metal but mixed in with more of a groove metal direction while you can also hear a small amount of death metal influences in their musical sound when it comes to the heavier parts and the music also has a sound that would almost be mainstream enough to be played on radio stations.
There is a decent amount of melody in the bands musical style and they also bring in a good mixture of both clean and heavy parts and as the album progresses the band also starts adding in more spoken word samples and electronic music sounds on some of the songs as well as adding in a small amount of blast beats in some of the later tracks, halfway through the album melodic guitar leads start finding there way into the music briefly.
StampKase plays a very extreme style of progressive metal that is more in a modern direction and also brings in elements of other styles of metal and finding a decent balance between melody and heaviness and while this is not my favorite style of metal I still feel the band is very good for what they are trying to do with their musical sound, the production sounds very professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover real life themes.
In my opinion StampKase are a very decent sounding modern, extreme and progressive metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Dodge Fire" "Angular Plasma" "Deja Vu" and "Stamina". 7/5 out of 10.
