Damage Source are a band from Germany that plays an old school form of thrash metal and this is a review of their self released 2013 demo "Raise Hell".
The demo starts out with a very old school German style thrash metal sound along with some screams that are heavily influenced by early Kreator and after awhile a few seconds of growls are added into the music adding in a small amount of death metal influences and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful presence on this recording.
There is a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts throughout the recording and the music seems to be influenced by both the American and German thrash metal bands or the 80's and when solos and leads are added into the music they bring a very melodic and technical feeling to the bands musical sound.
Damage Source plays a very aggressive and old school style of thrash metal and goes back to the days when this was the most aggressive style of this genre during the mid 80's and there are also some early traces of death metal in their musical sound and the songs sound like they could of been recorded in 1987 while this is actually a younger band playing this style, the production sound s very old school yet professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover death, Satan and aggression.
In my opinion Damage Source are a very great sounding old school thrash metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Raise hell" and "On Your Knees". 8 out of 10.
