Heroes Of Vallentor are a band from Sweden that plays a very epic form of heavy metal and this is a review of their 2014 album "The Warriors Path Part I" which will be released by Inverse Records.
Synths and acoustic guitars start off the album along with some spoken word parts which gives the recording an epic and medieval feeling and after the intro the music starts going into more of an old school traditional metal direction along with some power metal style vocals and you can also hear a good amount of melody in the bands musical style.
When solos and leads are added into the music they continue the true metal tradition of the mid 70's to early 80's and the band also brings in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them and they also bring back the synths from the intro in certain sections of the recording.
As the album progresses the band starts adding in more elements of speed metal and the band also brings in a great amount of true metal anthems and at times the vocals also start adding more aggressive elements which also bring a touch of extreme metal to the bands musical style as well as bringing in more of an updated feeling, after being in a hard and heavy direction for most of the recording the band brings back some acoustic guitars on a song they create an instrumental while the remainder of the album sticks to a pure metal sound and the last song is a 7 minute epic track.
Heroes Of Vallentor plays a very true form of old school heavy metal on this recording that is very epic and heavily rooted in the mid 70's to early 80's and also has elements of the early power and speed metal sound, the production sounds very old school yet professional at the same time and the lyrics cover fantasy and paganism themes.
In my opinion Heroes Of Vallentor are a very great sounding epic heavy metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Warriors Path" "Lord of Fire" "Lawgiver" and "The Sword Of Heroes". 8/5 out of 10.
