Amaze Knight are a band from Italy that plays a mixture of progressive rock and metal and this is a review of their 2013 album "The Key".
The album starts out with drums before going into a hard and symphonic sound along with some progressive elements a few seconds later which leads to the music going for a metal direction a long with some powerful sounding bass guitars and after awhile melodic vocals are added into the music along wit h some solos and leads a few minutes later.
When we get more into the album acoustic and clean guitars are added into certain sections of the recording and the band uses old school metal vocals and modern day metal riffing while also having a great amount of melody in the music and you can also hear some psychedelic sounds coming out of the synths.
With this album Amaze Knight take the old school metal sound of the early 80's and mix it in with a more modern sound as well as being very progressive and experimental as well as bringing in psychedelic and symphonic elements to create a sound of their own which also reminds of what Rush or Queensyrche might of sounded like if they where formed in modern days.
Song lyrics are a concept album about describing emotions, experiences, and considerations through a common story, while the production has a very strong, powerful, heavy and professional sound for being a self released recording where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this album as well as all of the songs being very long and epic in length.
In my opinion Amaze knight are a very great sounding mixture of metal and progressive rock and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Imprisoned (Shadow's Past)" and "Liberation (The Reflection)". 8/5 out of 10.
