Frehley's Comet where a band from New York that was a solo project of a former KISS member with their music being a mixture of hard rock and pop metal and this is a review of their self titled 1987 album which was released by Megaforce Records.
The album starts out with military style drums before going into a more hard rock direction along with spoken word parts and guitar solos and leads and after awhile melodic vocals are added into the music.
When the album goes into other songs pop metal element s start mixing in with the more hard rock orientated sounds and at times they music speeds up a bit along with all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them as well as bringing in a good amount of melody into the recording and after awhile keyboards and clean guitars are added into certain sections of the recording and the album closes with an instrumental that utilizes acoustic guitars.
With this album Freheley' Comet took the 70's hard rock metal sound and mixed it in with 80's pop metal to create one of the more underrated album for this genre and it was the perfect comeback for the former guitarist of KISS.
Song lyrics cover rock'n'roll and everyday themes, while the production has a very strong, powerful, heavy and professional sound where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
In my opinion Frehley's Comet where a very great sounding mixture of pop metal and hard rock and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Breakout" "Something Moved" "Calling To You" and "Stranger In A Strange Land". 8 out of 10.
