Phrenetix are a band from Lithuania that has been featured before in this zine and plays an old school form of thrash metal and this is a review of their 2015 album "Fear" which was released by Inferno Records.
A very heavy and aggressive sound starts off the album and evolves into more of a thrash metal direction and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard and the vocals are done in a very aggressive yet melodic style and the music is very heavily rooted in the mid 80's bay area style.
Melodies can be heard in some of the guitar riffing and back up gang shouts can be heard at times and the songs bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are presented on the recording while the solos and leads also bring in more of a melodic thrash style and there is also a brief use of clean playing on a couple of tracks while the main focus is on a heavier style of thrash
Phrenetix plays a very of thrash metal that is very aggressive in the old school bay area style, the production sounds very professional and makes an 80's style sound modern while the lyrics cover dark, violent, and real life themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Phrenetix and if you are a fan of thrash metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Time to Act" "Unconscious Game" and "Art Of Jail". 8 out of 10.
