Evenline are a band from France that plays alternative metal and this is a review of their 2014 album "Dear Morpheus" which was released by Doweet Records.
A very dark and clean sound starts off the album along with some melodic vocals and synths which leads to a heavier direction along with some aggressive vocals that border on death metal at times while the vocals stick mostly to a melodic direction and time s they band speeds up a bit and adds in semi blast beats.
A good mixture of clean and heavy parts along with a small amount of acoustic guitars are utilized throughout the recording and the band has a musical style that would be mainstream enough for hard rock radio stations and the leads and solos that are utilized are in a more melodic direction, you can also hear a great amount of melody in the bands guitar riffing.
As the album progresses a couple of power ballads are added onto the recording and some of the alter tracks also see elements of modern electronic music being added into the bands musical style while the main focus remains on a hard and heavy sound and there is a great amount of diversity present throughout the recording.
Evenline plays a more mainstream style of alternative metal that is suitable for radio stations as well as being the perfect band to be playing stadiums and they also have some of the more extreme metal heaviness in their sound as well and while they are not completely original they are one of the better bands playing this musical style, the production sounds very professional and the lyrics cover real life themes.
In my opinion Evenline are a very great sounding alternative metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Without You" "Already Gone" "Judgement Day" and "Eternal Regrets". 8 out of 10.
