Big Black Cloud are a band from Portland, Oregon that plays a mixture of punk, hardcore and noise rock and this is a review of their 2014 album "Lessons In Fuck You 2" which will be released in August by Eolian Empire.
Distorted slide guitars start off the album before the music goes into a more heavier direction along with some shouting vocals, melodies and all of the musical instruments sounding very powerful and the music style is more closer to a noise rock direction while also having the energy of punk rock.
Psychedelic sounds can be heard in certain sections of the recording and there is a garage rock feeling being displayed in all of the tracks that are present on this recording and there are also a good amount of guitar leads and diversity being present throughout the recording and the band also brings in a good mixture of both vocal and instrumental tracks.
Big Black Cloud creates a very original sound that is hard to categorize and brings in elements of punk, post hardcore, noise rock, garage and psychedelia to create the sound that is present on this recording, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover science fiction themes.
In my opinion Big Black Cloud are a very great sounding mixture of noise rock, punk and garage and if you are a fan of those musical genre, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Black Sunday" "Satellites" "Hate in Outer Space" and "Saturn". 8 out of 10.
