Kristian Harting is a solo artist from Denmark that plays a mixture of sufi music, mali blues, western lo-fi pop and avant garde mixed in with some noise and metal and this is a review of his 2014 album "Float" which will be released by Exile On Mainstream.
The album starts out with heavy drones, acoustic guitars and melodic vocals and after awhile avant garde sound s make their way into the music as well as some lo-fi pop which makes the music sound very original and hard to categorize.
When the album goes into the 3rd song electric guitars are added into the music along with elements of noise while the acoustic guitars are still the main instrument on this recording and after awhile psychedelic sounds are brought into certain sections of the recording.
Kristian harding creates some very dark and depressive sounding music with his melodic vocals and acoustic guitars and when he mixes in heavy guitars and avant garde/psychedelic sounds the music becomes very hard to categorize.
Song lyrics cover dark and metaphysical themes, while the production has a very dark and old school sound while you can still hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
In my opinion Kristian Harding is a very great sounding avant garde/experimental solo artist and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Soul Collector" "Feathered Ghosts" "Walk With Thor" anf "Previous Freedom". 8 out of 10.
