7 Days Dead/Beyond Within/2013 EP Review

7  Days  Dead  are  a  band  from  Ireland  that  plays  a  mixture  of  sludge  and  groove  metal  and  this is  a  review  of  their  self  released  2013  ep  "Beyond  Within".

Drums  range  from  slow  to  mid  paced  playing  with  no  fast  drumming  or  blast  beats  being  present  on  this  recording,  while  the  bass  playing h as  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  are  coming  out  of  the  guitars.

Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow  to  mid  paced  riffs  that  combine  sludge  and  groove  metal  together  to  create  a  sound  of  their  own  with  a  good  amount  of  melody  being  thrown  into  the  riffing  as  well  as  a  brief  use  of  soft  and  clean  playing,  while  the  lead  guitars  are  very  melodic  sounding  metal/hard  rock  guitar  solos  and  leads.

Vocals  are  mostly  clean  singing  metal/rock  vocals  with  some  more  aggressive  parts  being  utilized  on  the  last  song,  while  the  lyrics  cover  everyday  themes,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  strong,  powerful,  heavy  and  professional  sound  for  being  a  self  released  recording.

In  my  opinion  7  Days  Dead  are  a  very  great  sounding  hybrid  of  groove  and  sludge  metal  and  if you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  this  band  out.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Broken"  and  "Haunted".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
