Brume are a band from Oakland, California that plays a psychedelic mixture of stoner, sludge, and doom metal and this is a review of their 2017 album "Rooster" which will be released on July 15th by Doom Stew Records.
Powerful sounding bass guitars start off the album along with some heavy sludge/doom metal riffing a few seconds later along with a decent amount of dark sounding melodies and atmospheric synths are also used at times and after awhile female vocals make their presence known on the recording.
Most of the tracks are very long and epic in length while clean playing along with acoustic guitars can also be heard in certain sections of the recording along with the music also mixing in psychedelic and stoner elements and when guitar solos and leads are utilized they are done in a very dark yet melodic fashion and all of the songs stick to a very slow musical direction.
Brume plays a musical style that takes doom metal and mixes it in with the heaviness of sludge and also adding in stoner and psychedelic touches to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion Brume are a very great sounding mixture of psychedelic, stoner, sludge, and doom metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Grit And Pearls" and "Call The Serpent's Bluff". 8 out of 10.
