6:33 are a band from France that plays a very avant garde mixture of metal and rock and this is a review of their album "Deadly Scenes" which will be released in 2015 by Kaotoxin Records.
Melodic chanting starts off the album and they bring in a gospel feeling to the music before going into a Mr. Bungle influenced musical direction while also bringing in elements of funk and metal and after awhile blast beats can be heard in certain sections of the recording and when solos are added into the music they are in a very melodic direction and there is also a good mixture of both male and female vocals throughout the recording.
Elements of bassanova and ska can be heard throughout the recording along with some spoken word samples and when keyboards are added into they bring a very psychedelic feeling to the recording and at times they are traces of video game music and a heavy influence from hardcore and after a few tracks you can hear elements of industrial being added into the bands musical style.
A good portion of the tracks are very long and epic in length and you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording and on of the tracks brings in a small amount of growls which also gives the music a death metal influence and every track brings in a variety of many different musical genres while the band never forgets its metal roots and they also add in a brief use of acoustic guitars on one of the tracks
6:33 takes the heaviness of metal and mixes it with a variety of many different musical genres you can hear hear hard rock, alternative, funk, bassonova, ska, hardcore and many other different styles of music which also gives them a very original sound, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover humorous and tripped out themes.
In my opinion 6:33 are a very great sounding mixture of avant garde, metal and rock among many different genres and if you are looking for something that is very weird and original, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Ego Fandago" "I'm A Nerd" "Black Widow" and "Deadly Scenes". 8 out of 10.
