Clorange where a band from Tennessee that played a very psychedelic and stoner form of doom metal and this is a review of their 2012 album "Instinct" which was re-issued by PRC Music in the year of 2014.
A very heavy and old school doom metal sound starts off the album along with some melodic riffing and you can also hear some acoustic guitars being mixed in with the heavier parts and after awhile blues rock orientated guitar leads are added into the music and after the intro more elements of 70's and stoner rock find their way onto the recording.
After awhile the solos and leads start adding more of a doom sound and the vocals are clean singing done by a female and some of the tracks are very long and epic in length and there are also a great amount of heavy psychedelic elements being mixed in with a more darker and doomy style of metal and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and as the album progresses acoustic guitars can be heard in certain sections of the recording.
Clorange takes a very dark style of doom metal and mixes it in with some 70's psychedelic and stoner rock to create an album that is very retro yet very heavy all at the same time, the production has a very old school yet professional sound while the lyrics cover dark, depressive, metaphysical and psychedelic themes.
In my opinion Clorange where a very great sounding psychedelic stoner/doom metal and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this re-issue. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Enlightened ignorance" "Solace" and "Gypsy". 8 out of 10.
