Beastmilk are a band from Finland that has been featured before in this zine and plays a mixture of post punk and death rock and this is a review of their 2014 ep "White Stains Of Black Wax" which will be released in October by Magic Bullet Records.
A very dark and old school melodic post punk sound starts off the ep along with some clean singing vocals which adds a more gothic and death rock feeling to the recording and at time s you can hear a bit of psychedelic and occult rock in the bands musical style and when guitar leads are added into the recording they enhance the old school and melodic elements of the bands musical style.
At time s the guitar riffs have a little bit of heaviness to them and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them while the music at time s sounds like what Sisters Of Mercy might of sounded like if they had a metal or Danzig era Misfits influence to them and the last song brings in radio samples.
Beastmilk continues the old school death rock sound of previous recordings while sounding even more dark and melodic this time around, the production sounds very dark and old school while the lyrics cover a dark subject manner.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Breastmilk and if you are a fan of this band, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Blood Under The Mill". 8 out of 10.
