Lady Beast are a band from Pennsylvania that plays a very old school and traditional form of heavy metal and this is a review of their self titled 2013 album which was released by Inferno Records.
The album starts out with an old school metal sound along with melodic vocals and solos and all of the musical instruments sound very powerful and the music sticks to more of an early 80's sound while also having a great amount of melody.
As the album continues it sticks to a traditional metal sound with no modern elements being utilized along with solos that bring in a hard rock feeling as well as bringing back NWOBHM and early 80's American metal and the last song is a Judas Priest cover.
With this album Lady Beast bring back a very different retro sound than newer bands with the way they combine NWOBHM and early American metal together along with a lot of catchy riffs and melody as well as updating a 1982 sound for the modern days.
Song lyrics cover fantasy, heavy metal and everyday themes, while the production has a very strong, powerful, heavy and old school sound where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this album.
In my opinion lady Beast are a very great sounding old school traditional metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Metal Rules" "Armor" "Hot Pursuit" and "Ram It Down". 8 out of 10.
